An absorption (adsorption) refrigerator is a unit whose operation is carried out due to the absorption of water. The refrigerant of the device is ammonia. It is he who dissolves in the liquid, which is located in the technical part of the unit. Further, the aqueous solution under pressure is transferred to the generator, and from it to the reflux condenser. In the latter, the process of condensation of the solution begins, which leads to the separation of gas from the liquid.
When the process is over, concentrated ammonia vapor will pass through the condenser, where it will again be compressed by external forces and enter the evaporator. Water will fall into the absorber. In this way, an almost continuous cooling process is carried out.
Such refrigerators are divided into types:
“Frost 3m”: principle of operation
This unit works according to the absorption-diffusion principle. A system of seamless pipes, which are made of steel, is involved in the work. The system is tight and does not have parts that could move. The advantage of the refrigerator is that it works silently.
The inert gas contained in the refrigerator allows you to set a uniform pressure throughout the technical part of the refrigerator. The movement of the aqueous ammonia solution is carried out under the influence of a thermosiphon.
If we consider in detail the action of the working part of the refrigerator, the process proceeds as follows:
- The solution of ammonia and water is heated.
- The heated liquid, brought to a boil, raises a thermosiphon. This is due to the fact that its density becomes less than the density of the second solution in thermosiphon.
- As soon as the liquid leaves the tube, water-ammonia vapor begins to be released.
- Steam through the regenerator reaches the condenser.
- There is a process of condensation.
- Already liquid gas enters the evaporator, where it again turns into steam.
The cycle repeats in a circle. Due to constant vaporization, a low temperature in the device is achieved.
How does a gas fridge work
Gas units have a distinctive feature: they are able to work even without access to electricity. The principle of their action is the use of gas, which is produced by connecting the unit to a gas pipeline or gas cylinder.
Heats the gas in this case with a water-ammonia solution. This happens in the absorber, where ammonia is mixed with water and then transferred to the evaporator. In the evaporator, ammonia is separated from water due to evaporation, as a result of which cooling occurs inside the refrigerator chamber.
Important! Gas requires careful handling, as it can be very dangerous if you do not provide all the conditions for safe operation.

The principle of operation of the ammonia refrigerator is the evaporation of ammonia in water. The solution from water and ammonia enters the reflux condenser. Its purpose is to decompose the solution into its components, after which ammonia gas is again compressed and transferred to the evaporator. Actions are repeated in a circle.

From the depths of socialism
The company Velikoluksky Household Appliances LLC itself was established on October 3, 2000. However, the Elektrobytpribor plant, which had existed since the middle of the last century, served as the basis for its creation. September 16, 1960 by the decree of Lensovnarkhoz the Velikoluksky plant "Electrobytpribor" was created. So, according to the notorious "pointer from above", this industrial object appeared, occupying its niche in the trade and economic space of the Soviet Union.
It was one of the largest enterprises in the country, producing household refrigeration equipment, irons, shoe dryers, boilers, electric radiators, vulcanizers, and trade equipment. In the heyday of the plant, the Morozko refrigerator appeared, known not only to residents of the Union republics, but also to the inhabitants of the African continent who decided to take the path of building socialism, as well as their comrades-in-arms around the world.
In October 2000, the established company VZBT LLC bought out part of the premises and equipment of the enterprise, where the current production was launched. The staff directly involved in production was updated.
Latest time
Gradually, domestic appliances of domestic manufacturers find their way into the homes of Russians. An important role in this is played by the Velikoluksky Household Appliances Plant.
Today, the basis of the product range of the enterprise is Morozko refrigerators and Sadko bars of various modifications, as well as oil radiators (flat and sectional).
A feature of the plant is that all the refrigerators it produces are devices of an uncompressed, absorption type. However, the Velikiye Luki plant is constantly striving to develop the latest models, taking into account all current technological achievements. So, in 2004, engineers of the enterprise tested the Morozko portable refrigerators, capable of working not only on electricity, but also on gas. And literally this year, in Moscow, at the 16th international exhibition of household appliances and electronics "CEM-2006", Morozko compression and thermoelectric refrigerators were presented.

Today, “Morozko” is located in a niche of the so-called “compact” cold. Household refrigerators manufactured by the enterprise are modest "compact cars", they have small spatial dimensions. Such a refrigerator is easy to place in places limited by available space - offices, country houses, dormitories. “Frost” can be a salvation in ordinary small-sized apartments, the layout of the kitchens of which by no means allows us to call them spacious.
Another very valuable quality of Morozko refrigerators is the fact that they do not have a compressor. Often even the owners of expensive foreign compression refrigerators complain about the noise that irritates them very much, causing a constant headache - in the literal and figurative sense. An absorption refrigerator, by definition, cannot and will not make noise due to the absence of moving parts as such.

The Frost-3 refrigerator is also convenient in that it can not only be installed on a minimum area, but also mounted on a wall. This very useful quality further enhances the ability of this technique to fit even in the most hopelessly small kitchens - vertical planes are usually used much less.
The Velikoluksky enterprise takes steps towards its customers and offers custom-made production of refrigerator doors from various materials - cheaper polystyrene or durable steel. Traditionally, steel structural elements are considered more reliable and are an attribute of a kind of "elitism" of household appliances. And there’s nothing to talk about mass - only 18 kilograms! Such equipment can be easily transported on its own - there will be no problems either in going through doorways or with labor.
