Company Features

The history of the company’s development goes back to the end of the 19th century, and more precisely, in 1886. It was then that Tarkett AB was opened in Sweden, producing parquet from wood waste from the production of wheels for wooden carts. Parquet in its modern sense was developed by Tarkett designers only in the forties of the last century. The history of Tarkett is more than 130 years of mergers, acquisitions and associations of various floor coverings. Currently, Tarkett is a combination of several companies, which includes 28 production facilities and more than one hundred sales offices located around the world.

Tarkett Group produces the following types of floor coverings:

  • laminated
  • parquet board
  • linoleum,
  • sports
  • carpet
  • art vinyl.

Actually, parquet board is a specialization of factories belonging to the Tarkett group of companies located in Sweden, Serbia and Poland. These plants are considered the most advanced in Europe, because they are based on the use of the latest technological developments. Thanks to this, Tarkett products meet the requirements of international safety standards and maintain a leading position in the market.

According to reviews by both ordinary consumers and professionals in the field of repair and finishing works, the products of this brand deserve respect as an example of quality, reliability and manufacturability. Tarkett is constantly improving its products, making them even safer, more wear resistant and easy to install and maintain. She was one of the first to introduce heat treatment of materials in her production, and in order to make the finished product more durable and moisture resistant, the main layer of parquet was glued from all sides. In the manufacture of flooring, Tarkett uses a special varnish coating, which increases the resistance of parquet to abrasion.

Materials

Tarkett parquet board has a three-layer structure:

  • The lower stabilizing layer provides structural stability and dimensional stability. It is made of special plywood made of coniferous wood, resistant to moisture.
  • Coniferous wood base. The base fibers are perpendicular to the fibers of the lower and upper layers, which ensures the stability of the entire structure of the floor covering.
  • The top layer is an array of valuable wood species that are heat treated or tinted. On top of this layer is varnished (matte, glossy or supergloss).

To manufacture its products, the company uses the following wood species:

  • Oak - It is used most often due to its ideal qualities. He is beautiful, and durable, and solid. Just what you need for a good floor covering. It has a wide range of textures and shades, which depend on which part of the tree is chosen for processing and how it is processed. The texture of the oak plank can be more or less uniform over the entire plane of the plank, or it can be a mixture of dark and light shades.

  • Red oak It has a more interesting appearance, which makes it possible to make more decorative parquet boards from it. This type of wood has a reddish-brown or pinkish tint with a slightly pronounced woody pattern. By its strength characteristics, red oak stands in one line with ordinary oak.
  • Beech - very wear resistant material. Beech trees live for more than four hundred years. Products from them have an elegant structure, especially if the technology of artificial aging is applied to them.
  • Ash - the most suitable wood for a parquet board. Its flexible but solid structure makes the flooring particularly durable. Ash is well amenable to heat treatment, as a result of which it darkens a little and takes on a more pronounced pattern. Floors with a top coating of this wood species make it possible to bring special cosiness and good mood to the interior.
  • African mahogany - Exotic wood, which has a sectional view of a bright pattern with a wavy structure, the natural lines of the pattern when polished become reddish.
  • Merbau - wood of red-brown shades with an exquisite pattern with streaks of mineral salts. Requires a special interior setting. Merbau wood has a special strength, therefore it is very practical, and at the same time it is able to fill the room with unique luxury.
  • Nut gives the floor chocolate shades. This type of wood is harvested in North America. Walnut parquet is able to fill the atmosphere of the house with special energy and give strength to its inhabitants.
  • Kempas - wood with bright colors and light fiber pattern. Moreover, it has a high density, and, therefore, has higher strength characteristics.
  • Jatoba - has a section brownish shades with dark veins. After polishing, the board made of this wood acquires a special gloss.
  • Wenge - wood with dark chocolate color. Under the influence of light, it becomes even darker. It can sometimes look like an almost ebony tree. This coating is well suited for contrasting interiors.
  • Msasa - This type of wood from Central Africa is used for flooring only by Tarkett. It is solid wood, similar to teak. The colors of this wood flooring range from honey with a golden sheen to light brown.
  • Acacia - has soft colors with an expressive pattern. The main shades in brownish and greenish-brown tones. After processing, acacia wood becomes even more expressive and looks very elegant.
  • Cherry - A fairly popular and often used material for flooring. The wood has an interesting structure in brownish pink hues. Over time, cherry floors become more saturated in color and bring warmth and comfort to the room.

In the production process, the parquet board is dried, which ensures high strength products in various operating conditions. The top layer of the parquet is treated with a glossy or matte water-based varnish in seven layers. Its fixing on the surface occurs with the help of ultraviolet rays.

Such processing is necessary in order to make the coating more wear-resistant and restored (grinding of a parquet board with subsequent application of special compositions can be performed as necessary). The lacquer coating can also be replaced with an oil coating, which makes the parquet resistant to dirt and moisture.

Each type of Tarkette is easy to install. See installation rules in the next video.

Technical specifications and dimensions

Tarkett parquet board has a standard thickness of 14 mm. The length of the board can be 2215, 2283, 1000, 1200 mm, width - 140, 164, 194 mm. By the nature of the drawing (design), the board can be single-lane and three-lane:

  • A single-lane board is made from one solid lamella. This flooring is designed to simulate a solid wood floor. Single-lane coatings are premium products and are slightly more expensive than three-lane models.
  • The top layer of a three-strip board consists of three lamellas glued together. This coating is more like parquet laying.

Each series of parquet boards has its own technical characteristics (in addition to the above):

  • The presence of an additional protective coating (for example, antibacterial).
  • Possibility of laying on underfloor heating (yes or no).
  • The effect of processing (digital printing, toning).
  • Service life (25, 30 years).
  • Discoloration (weak, moderate).
  • Change in hue (darkens).
  • Density of wood (measured as more or less density of oak).

How to care?

A few simple rules:

  • Since the top cover of the parquet board is natural wood, capable of absorbing and releasing moisture, to maintain the floor in good condition, it is necessary that the humidity in the room be no higher than 60% and not lower than 30%.
  • To remove dust and various debris from the surface of the parquet, which can lead to scratching, you must regularly vacuum the floor.
  • In order to keep the parquet flooring in good condition, the manufacturer advises the use of a specially developed care product.
  • If any liquid was accidentally spilled onto the floor, it should be immediately removed with a cloth.

The manufacturer does not recommend:

  • To walk on a parquet board in heels or in shoes with damaged soles, as well as in certain types of sports shoes.
  • Install flower pots on the floor to prevent excess moisture from forming under them.
  • Clean the floor with a damp cloth.
  • The use of rugs on any solid basis, including rubber, as this leads to excessive accumulation of moisture and dirt.
  • Pour the cleaner for the floorboard directly onto the floor.
  • Use of wax for floors, abrasive and oily detergents.
  • If there is a heated floor, set its temperature above 27 degrees, and also allow a sharp temperature drop (on the day the difference should be no more than 2.8 degrees).

If you follow all the recommendations of Tarkett for caring for parquet, then it is able to serve its owners for quite a long time. When the parquet board is worn, you can always restore it with the help of scraping. If necessary, you can also replace only some, especially worn boards, with new ones, which will save a lot of money.

Collections and examples in the interior

Tarkett company today offers a huge selection of types of flooring, which are presented in 13 collections:

  • Performance fashion - An ultra-modern collection with an unusual design of boards based on digital printing. Such a coating is suitable for fairly spacious rooms, where most of the floor surface is in a constant field of view (halls, living rooms). Parquet board “Salvatore Style” from this collection is an excellent basis for the interior of a spacious rustic kitchen.

Technical features

The technology for the production of parquet boards under the Tarkett brand was developed back in the 40s of the last century. It was then that local engineers patented a method of manufacturing a multilayer board, in which the lower working layer was made of pine or spruce, glued with a transverse arrangement of wood fibers. This made it possible to ensure mutual compensation of the layers and, accordingly, reduce the expansion coefficient of the parquet itself. The use of low-cost breeds in the base has reduced the cost of the material.

As a result, a floor covering appeared, the service life of which increased significantly, and the external characteristics did not cause any complaints. The modern parquet board from the Tarkett company has a rather thick top layer, which is polished at the factory, and repeatedly, which makes the floor surface perfectly smooth. The working substrate is made of very hard, rather rare tree species, and the upper layers are made of expensive and noble ones. Therefore, a unique imitation of a respectable gender is created.

Technical specifications

The length of the Tarkett parquet board is standard, it is 2525 mm, width 188 mm, thickness 14 mm. It is coated with UV varnish. In the package of 6 pieces, which are enough to cover an area equal to 2.85 square meters. m. Therefore, it is easy to calculate how many packages are needed in order to completely cover the floor surface of one room. Tarkett parquet products are an elite three-strip coating that will help to achieve special comfort.

Variety of design possibilities

Swedish manufacturers took care of a large assortment and created a unique Tarkett series, which expands the scope of application of the designated flooring. Until now, there was one significant drawback of such an analogue of parquet, there was no variety of texture and installation methods.

Now everything has changed. A unique Salsa series from Tarkett is presented to the attention of potential buyers, it allows you to recreate a wood texture with a natural pattern. The Flamenco series is a selection of the most original shades. Three-layer “Samba” is a bold experiment, each element is a little more than a meter, this helps to create a unique design drawing. Single-lane "Tango" is a parquet board, the top layer of which is made of the most expensive tree species to date. And finally, Tango Art is a collection of eight individual designer styling methods.

Such a variety increases the scope of the indicated parquet board, which adds another very important point to the list of advantages.

But the most popular tree that manufacturers use in their designs is ash. Why? It's all about the tree itself. Ash has high strength and resistance to mechanical damage. Therefore, the ash-tree parquet board does not deform over time, does not crack, and endures quite serious loads. The manufacturer company on "Ash" gives a guaranteed thirty-year service life. At the same time, throughout the entire service life, Tarkett guarantees that the ash board is still the same as in its original form.

It should be noted that the parquet board ash from Tarkett is made according to a unique technology, where its three-layer structure is used. This provides high technical and operational characteristics of the material. In addition, the manufacturer today offers a fairly wide palette of shades, which increases the already high popularity of ash boards.

I would like to note that ash itself, meaning wood, is easy to process. This property of it allows you to cut wood into thin dies, which form the basis of parquet boards. This, firstly, reduces the cost of production. And, secondly, it makes it possible to diversify the collection of this flooring. To this I would like to add that ash is the most common tree in Europe. So this indicator is also decreasing in terms of cost reduction. Basically, this collection is produced by the Serbian branch of the company.

I would like to list some models from this collection:

  1. Tarkett ash brandy.
  2. Brushed stone.
  3. Vintage.
  4. Gold.
  5. Arctic.
  6. Natural.
  7. Cave.

This is just a small list. The manufacturer tries every year to bring new models to the consumer's court, elegant and simple, expensive and cheap. It is this position and a similar approach to production that solves the problems of choice. And as practice shows, the wider the choice, the more consumers pay attention to the collection. Moreover, the quality of the floorboard is at the highest level and meets the requirements of the European standard.

New perspectives

New recipes for varnish coating, which has dirt-repellent properties, are already being developed, the board sold is antistatic, very reliable and environmentally friendly. Therefore, we will monitor success in this direction and wait for new products from Tarkett.
